Moby Wrap Classic Stretchy Baby Carrier from Newborn - Ruby
Our summary: we think a Moby stretchy wrap is a must have for your new baby, it's so reassuring for them as it feels womb like, they can smell you and feel your heartbeat and warmth. It even helps with their sense of balance and space more than when they are lying flat all the time. It helps them to soothe and potentially cry less as they feel more supported and reassured. It may help with reflux as they're more upright too. It also helps the parent to have hands free to get on with cooking, cleaning or chasing toddlers! We recommend you wear it like a t-shirt all the time so you can easily pop your baby in and out as you need to. Ideal for quick trips to the shops etc too instead of lugging a pram or car seat out of the car. Always use the TICKS rule for safe babywearing and make sure your baby's airways are clear:
T is for “Tight” - Your sling or baby carrier should be tight, with your baby held close against your body. Loose fabric or buckles can allow your baby to slump, which can make it difficult for him to breathe. A loose sling or carrier can also strain your back.
I is for “In View at All Times” - You should be able to see your baby's face by glancing down. Make sure that the fabric of your sling or baby carrier is clear from his head and face. You shouldn't need to move any fabric to be able to see him.
C is for “Close Enough to Kiss” - Your baby should be positioned as high on your chest as you find comfortable. If you tip your head forward, you should be able to kiss his forehead or the top of his head.
K is for “Keep Chin Off the Chest” - Your baby should not be in a position where his chin is forced onto his chest as this can restrict his breathing. Make sure you can put at least one finger between his chin and his chest to keep him safe.
S is for “Supported Back” - Your baby's back should be supported in its natural position so it isn't bent or twisted. Place a hand on his back and gently press. He should not uncurl or move closer to you.
A parenting favourite for its comfort, style, and adaptability, the award-winning MOBY Wrap is made from soft, breathable, durable fabric that evenly distributes the weight of carrying your baby across the back and hips and provides the perfect snuggle for newborns, infants, and toddlers.
For infants, baby wraps make the transition from the womb to the outside world easier, close contact keeps baby near the parents beating heart and reassures them with the constant motion they experienced in the womb.
The classic baby wrap from Moby is made from soft, durable, 100% cotton fabric making it the perfect carrier for comfort, style and adaptability. The one size fits all evenly distributes the weight of carrying a baby across the back and hips, allowing for complete comfort whilst baby wearing.

HOW THE WRAP WORKS
Start by wrapping yourself. There is a rumor that it can take a few tries to learn to wrap, but you will soon get to know your Moby Wrap and become familiar with how tight you will wrap yourself and as baby grows you will naturally adjust for your growing baby, wrapping for the perfect fit every time.
For newborns an inside pocket is created where the fabric comes from your shoulder and crosses your body. This pocket will hug your little one, allowing them to stay in an upright fetal position that is so important in this stage of development.
For older babies, baby comes in and sits on the X created by the crisscrossed fabric at your chest. This X cradles baby in a deep seated position that supports the natural curve of baby's spine and while allowing you to spread the fabric wide to reach from knee to knee.
Nursing in a Moby is a wonderful option for breastfeeding mothers. We recognize that every mother/baby nursing relationship is different. Therefore, our Moby carriers provide a variety of options for breastfeeding so you can discover what works best for you.
Upright position
Many mamas find success nursing baby upright in the Newborn Hug or Hug Hold. This is a great option for babies who have adapted to latching on in a vertical position. Many moms report that they love the simplicity and ease of breastfeeding their baby this way in a Moby Wrap.
Horizontal position
For moms and babies who prefer to nurse in a horizontal position, for safety, we recommend taking baby out of the Moby Wrap to nurse, leaving the Moby Wrap on mom. Once baby has finished breastfeeding, baby is easily put back into the wrap in an upright position.
When using a Moby Wrap while breastfeeding, use your arms to support baby. After feeding, always move baby's face away from the breast and re-position upright.
