Eco by Naty Economy Size 4+ (9-20 kg, 20-44 lbs) - 42 nappies
Our summary: we love Naty nappies for lots of reasons, but mainly because it's an ethical company run by a Swedish mum who uses the most natural materials and processes available, because the nappies are super soft, almost paperly feeling and super absorbent, and finally because they are great value, not much more expensive than high street brands. Read more here about why you should buy eco nappies instead of mainstream brands - you will never look back once you do!
This value economy pack gives you 42 nappies at 37c per nappy.
Benefits for You, Your Baby and the Environment:
- More gentle and healthier for your baby
- Based on natural certified materials
- Leakage barrier made of a GM Free corn starch film that breathes naturally
- 100% Totally Chlorine Free (TCF) and perfume free
- Soft, cloth-like feel provides a non-bulky fit, enabling your child to move around freely!
Naty nappies have 0% oil-based plastic on your baby’s skin, are 100% chlorine-free, not bleached, and contain zero perfume. You don’t have to drive yourself crazy worrying about nappy rash or scary reactions, as only plant-based materials ever touch your baby’s skin. The core of a Naty nappy is made from 100% FSC certified wood pulp, which is not only totally natural, but really good at sucking up liquid. The other layers are made of natural materials. And Naty nappies look pretty cool too with their Swedish nature-inspired illustrations
Other nappies can use massive amounts of oil-based plastics. Naty have spent years perfecting their nappies by eliminating as much non-biodegradable materials as possible while maintaining performance and comfort. Their nappies are completely unbleached, contain no latex, fragrance, or TBT (tributyltin), and are hypo-allergenic.
There are no phthalates, organotins (MBT, DBT, TBT), heavy metals, TCF (Total Chlorine Free), HCHO (formaldehyde), colophonium, AZO-pigments, PVC, and substances known as harmful to health or the environment.
As with any nappy, for maximum performance, when your baby reaches the upper limits of the weight class, we recommend that you switch to the next, larger size.
Naty are proud of their products and they are the only nappy brand that declares its ECO ingredients
Why is Chlorine-Free so important
Your choice of chlorine-free nappies could help reduce cancer rates. The current level of dioxin pollution in the world creates an unacceptable cancer risk for everyone. Buying these nappies helps reduce the amount of dioxin polluting our air, water and soil and helps make the world a safer, healthier place for your family for generations to come. Hundreds of studies have shown a direct link between dioxin exposure and cancer, birth defects, and environmental and reproductive disorders.
How to dispose of your Naty eco nappy:
To properly dispose of the nappy, place the nappy in your regular waste bin. Do not compost. Human waste contains bacteria that can contaminate water and harm the surrounding environment, including people. Harmful bacteria must be subject to high temperatures for a sustained period of time to kill them off. It can be difficult to attain the necessary temperature in all parts of a small compost bin or pile. Read more about this on our blog here.
Are they biodegradable?
Unfortunately no nappies are 100% biodegradable or compostable. Naty nappies are based on renewable raw materials but are not 100% biodegradable. Most Irish waste is incinerated so the nappy will not be left to biodegrade anyway. So why buy them? All of the raw materials come from plants and trees so when they are incinerated, the carbon dioxide is released to be consumed by other plants or trees. In this way you don’t add more carbon dioxide to the air - which happens when burning petroleum-based products including most high street nappies. Conventional nappies are often composed of up to 80% oil-based products. fit, enabling your child to move around freely!
